Ok guys. As you might have noticed, this community just isn't very active. Frankly, I don't have the time for it either. So, I'm gonna have to close it down. I will give the community to someone who has more time for it than me. Sorry. But seriously, if you want the community, I'd be more than happy to give it to you. Thanks everyone, it was a good try!

I felt like writing something here since there hasn't been anything at all going on. I recently reread PoA, GoF, and OoTP so i'm fresh on topics.

First before I start I realize how incredibly hard it is for me to actually read the ending to OoTP. I kept skipping pages and frowning, thinking "I will not read about Sirus. Snuffles. Don't Go. To. The. Ministry. Please." - I kept wishing the ending would change and it didn't, of course, but I couldn't help to dream.

I don't own GoF yet, and I kept trying to think about things in the book and cursing at myself for running in my room to go get it and it's not there. GoF is on my list for the thing I need to buy. Now. And everytime someone will mention something about Wormtail or something in GoF I automatically get up and say "Hmmm." but ewgawds, it's not there - so excuse me if I center around GoF as this depresses me.

But there are somethings i'd like to discuss.

Percy Weasley. Out of all the Weasley's he is my least favorite. I'm sure I even could like He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named more then him. Seriously now, he must be kicking himself in the behind next book and running back to forgive his mother and father... and Harry... as well, as his brothers and sister for not beliving them. For taking the Ministry's side. I mean I know he's the full on defination of a Prefect but Come on. Something as seriously as that, shouldn't be taken lightly. I wonder what will happen to Percy in the upandcoming books. I wonder if he'll be looked at the same way from his family, friends, and Ministry. He bothers me. I don't know. He's to Prefect-y and into his job more then other things and I don't know. Blah to him.

I love the Weasley's though. Ron has to be one of my all-time favorite characters. I love his remarks and his humor and ok, Rupert is adorable in the movies. I want to live in the Burrow. The explainations of the books, the family.. they all rock. Expect for maybe Percy, who knows Maybe he'll redeem himself.

Fred and George, a little authors note, are the upmost coolest two twins in literacy ever. Peeves respects them, they own a joke shop, they're witty, they're Weasley's and the whole conversation with them NOT becoming prefects and asking if they live next door had me giggling.

Lupin is one of my favorite charcters although, I don't see him getting close to Harry and taking Sirus' role as Godfather. That wouldn't make me happy at all. Someone made a point about a certain silver hand and Lupin but I don't want to go there because Lupin is cool. I hope he has some part in the upandcoming books as he is the only remaining member of the "group" to either be alive or in the OoTP and I think that he'd do a lot to protect Harry because of that and because of his friendship to James and Sirus and his 'hate' I guess for Wormtail... What do you all think about Lupin?

Also, I was wondering what everyone thought about the next book. I myself am hoping that Harry once again becomes Seeker as I think he needs something that he enjoys in his life. I'd like to see Umbridge apologize to Dumbledore. I'd like him to laugh at her in response but I don't think that'll happen. I'd like to see Umbridge apologize to Harry. And i'd like to see Sirus in a painting of somesort, so that he can still talk to Harry. In a way. I hope in some way this is resolved. Maybe Kreacher had something.

I don't know i'm just babbling right now. I'm trying to bring up something to chat about. It's so quiet.

Hello! Just a little introduction to me before I get started on Snape and the DOM. My name is Samantha, i'm 18 and from Florida. I wasn't always a Harry Potter fan, I saw the first movie and then fell head over heels for the books moreso then the movies. The books and JK Rowling's writing style, and the world of Harry Potter spark my intrests and this Community makes me glad, because there is somewhere to discuss something that most people I know do not share in my intrest.

Anyways, the topic at hand is Snape and the DOM, so i'll venture to that before I bore you all to a sudden death.

Snape is one of my favorite characters. I love his character and I think that he is one of the HP greats. I think there is more to him that meets the eye and I think that he'll come through for Harry in the end, or atleast, I hope he does. I wish that Mrs. Rowling will write more and more about Snape's past and what lead Snape to the roll he plays now because I found that intresting. In OoTP when some things were revealed about Snape's past with Harry's father and such, I was happy that she put this in the book and i'd like to know more and especially about what happened that made him in the end, switch sides.

Also, the Department of Mysteries totally sparked my intrest and I paid keen attention, if I do say so myself, to the details that were supplied to us. I was especially glad with the ways the inner office notes were flown around, because it's so much more convient then a simple phone call. lol. I do think it's run with a slight lack of security and order though and i'd like to see HOW the D.O.M deals with "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named" and the 'breakin' so to speak in the coming books. I personally would wish they take a step up and jump on the ball, so to speak. The Department of Mysteries isn't my favorite place and although, intresting though - i'm curious to see how it has a part, if it does, in the coming 2 books.

I can't add anymore members right now because of all the problems LJ is having. Sorry, but I will keep checking at least once a day to see if they've fixed the problem, but until then you will have to wait :(

Let's see if we can't get the discussion rolling.... [22 Sep 2003|08:38pm]

Alrighty then. First off I better introduce myself. My name is Jen, and I've long been a fanatic of Harry Potter. I even have a Harry Potter Fanfiction Archive if anyone is interested in that. It's kinda sad how much effort I put into this stuff. Anywho, I'm 21 and a Junior at Kutztown University in the States.

On to the more interesting stuff.

To start with Snape. I personally am in total love with his character. I think there's been a lot of speculation as to what type of a person he really is, and whose side he's on, but I guess I'm the die-hard fan that just wants to think he'll never leave to be bad again. I would kill to find out what made him become a Death Eater though, and more importantly, what made him change back and be a spy. There's a lot that can be said about our Slytherin friend here...And I've got my own ideas of what happened.

As for the Department of Mysteries... I'm baffled. I'd love to know more about it, there was so much confusion surrounding it. But one thing that's been plaguing me, and I can't shake it... Why oh why if Voldemort was able to grab the prophecy himself in the first place, didn't he just take it? I mean, it would be ok if he didn't show up later, but he did. So why go to all that bother? Also, how the hell is this Ministry run??? Did anyone else notice the complete lack of security whatsoever?? Death Eaters running amuck, most terrible wizard ever drops by, children who should have been in school going on rescue missions? Did I miss something here that says the wizards aren't into security?

*phew* Ok, that's my 2 cents for now. Let's get the ball rolling folks!

EssenceDivided has a new layout! yay, I'm so proud. I couldn't have done it without you ttigers822! Anyway, If you are looking at this on your friend's page, come to the new community and check out the new layout, and older posts. This community is still not very active, so PLEASE START POSTING!

Feel free to start your own topics or post on older topics. I don't think I'm going to post a new main topic for this week, because no one has responded to the other one. But, like I said, if you find the main topic boring, start a sub topic about what you want to talk about! I am going to have to start responding to my own posts, how sad is that, haha.

Because there was no discussion whatsoever about Snape, please feel free to comment on that post too!

This week's main topic is the Department of Mysteries. This was a very mysterious place and was very different than most people expected it would be. What questions do you have about any rooms, items, or what happend at the DoM? Did you notice anything you think may come into play in future book?

Now, PLEASE DISCUSS!

Because of the non-activeness on this community, this will remain the main topic here until the site becomes more active, and we get more members. Thanks!
